PRP/PRF

Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) and PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) are regenerative treatments made from a small sample of your own blood, concentrated to isolate the growth factors that drive your body's natural repair process. At Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center, our providers use PRP and PRF to gradually improve skin texture, tone, and firmness — brightening tired-looking skin and softening fine lines and undereye hollows without introducing anything foreign into your body.

Rejuvenate your skin with your body's own growth factors.

PRP and PRF both begin the same way: a small blood draw, similar to routine bloodwork, followed by a spin in a centrifuge that separates the blood's components. From there, the two diverge. PRP is processed with an anticoagulant to isolate a concentrated liquid layer of platelets suspended in plasma, which is then injected or applied to the skin. PRF is spun at a lower speed with no anticoagulant, allowing the blood to clot naturally into a fibrin matrix that holds platelets and white blood cells in a scaffold-like structure.

Because both are derived entirely from your own blood, allergic reaction and rejection are essentially non-issues — your body already recognizes every component. At Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center, our providers use PRP and PRF, often alongside microneedling, to encourage collagen production and gradually restore a smoother, more radiant complexion from within.

About PRP/PRF

PRP and PRF are regenerative, biostimulatory treatments — rather than filling or freezing anything, they work by delivering a concentrated dose of your own platelets and growth factors directly to areas of the face that could use renewed collagen production and cellular turnover. This makes them fundamentally different from dermal fillers or neuromodulators, which produce an immediate physical change.

PRF is considered the newer generation of the two. Because it clots into a fibrin matrix rather than remaining a liquid, it tends to release its growth factors more slowly over time — some research suggests over a week or more — which many providers believe supports a more sustained regenerative effect. PRP, by contrast, delivers a more concentrated, immediate release. Your provider may recommend one, the other, or a combination depending on your skin and goals.

What Is PRP/PRF Made Of?

Both PRP and PRF are made entirely from your own blood — nothing synthetic, animal-derived, or donor-sourced is involved. After a small blood draw, the sample is spun in a centrifuge to separate its components by density. For PRP, an anticoagulant keeps the sample liquid while the platelet-rich layer is drawn off and concentrated into an injectable plasma. For PRF, no anticoagulant is used, so the blood clots naturally into a three-dimensional fibrin matrix embedded with platelets, white blood cells, and stem cells — a scaffold your provider can inject or layer into the skin to release growth factors gradually as it's absorbed.

What Can PRP/PRF Do for My Look?

PRP and PRF are prized for restoring an overall healthy glow — brighter tone, smoother texture, and a subtle firmness that builds gradually as collagen regenerates. They're especially popular for softening the thin, delicate skin beneath the eyes, where hollows and fine crepiness can make you look more tired than you feel. Many patients combine PRP or PRF with microneedling to help the growth factors penetrate more effectively, amplifying results for fine lines, mild scarring, and dull or uneven skin.

Should I Get PRP/PRF for Facial Rejuvenation?

If your skin has lost some of its brightness and bounce, or if undereye hollows and fine lines are making you look more tired than you feel, PRP and PRF offer a way to encourage your skin to repair and refresh itself using nothing but its own biology.

Improves overall skin texture, tone, and radiance
Softens fine lines and mild crepiness
Brightens and smooths hollow, shadowed undereye skin
Stimulates the skin's own collagen production over time
Made entirely from your own blood, with minimal allergy risk

Am I a Candidate for PRP/PRF?

Most healthy adults looking for a gradual, natural approach to facial rejuvenation are good candidates for PRP or PRF. Because the treatment uses your own blood, the risk of allergic reaction is minimal. It isn't recommended for those with certain blood or platelet disorders, active infection at the treatment site, a history of certain cancers, or pregnancy and breastfeeding. During your consultation, our providers will review your medical history to confirm candidacy.

What Is the Difference Between PRP/PRF, EZ Gel, and Sculptra?

PRP/PRF, EZ Gel, and Sculptra are all biostimulatory treatments that encourage your skin to rebuild its own collagen, but they differ in how they're made and how they're used.

PRP/PRF

PRP/PRF

A liquid plasma concentrate (PRP) or a fibrin matrix (PRF), both derived from your own blood, used to gradually improve skin texture, tone, and undereye quality with minimal allergy risk.

EZ Gel

EZ Gel

A heat-processed, gel-like form of PRF made from your own blood, offering a thicker consistency well suited to light volumizing and structural support in areas like the undereyes and lips.

Sculptra

Sculptra

A synthetic biostimulatory filler made from poly-L-lactic acid rather than your own biology, gradually rebuilding collagen over several months for broader volume restoration.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before your PRP/PRF treatment.

Both are made from your own blood, but they're processed differently. PRP is spun with an anticoagulant to produce a concentrated liquid plasma that's injected right away. PRF is spun without an anticoagulant, so it clots naturally into a fibrin matrix that many providers believe releases growth factors more slowly and for longer. Your provider can help determine which is better suited to your goals.

Let Your Skin Heal Itself

PRP and PRF turn your body's own biology into a tool for gradual, natural-looking facial rejuvenation. With minimal downtime and no synthetic ingredients, refreshed skin is within reach.
